    What’s in your bag?

An ah-so & my wine finer. I always find myself needing one or the other.

    Common misconception?
Wine experts are not always sommeliers and sommeliers don’t know everything there is to know about wine. My dad is an expert and not certified. I call him a wine shaman, instead, because he’s accumulated his knowledge via sheer experience.

Our History

Mozy Tehrani began working in the wine industry in 1979 at the retail level.  In 1984 Mozy and Stephanie Tehrani founded Collector’s Wine Marketing, serving as agents for select California wineries.  In 1985, they began working with wines imported from France and incorporated in 1987.   By 1989 it was evident the business had changed dramatically with the emphasis on the imported wines, especially from Bordeaux, France, where Mozy was steadily securing the highly allocated wines available through Futures.  In 1995, they separated the brokering and by-then larger importing functions and obtained import and wholesale licenses under Exclusive Imports, Inc.  Ops Manager Donna MacDougall and Warehouse Manager Eli Meza joined the family business in 1997 and 1998 and oversaw the new growth.  In 2001 the Bordeaux futures market in the USA decreased significantly.  While Bordeaux and Champagne were still the stars, Exclusive Imports, Inc. leaned into its expertise in all appellations to expand the French portfolio and sourced Ports from Portugal as well.

We pride ourselves in bringing new wines to American retailers that are the definition of value and integrity.  Each appellation has its own voice and in an-ever shrinking world, we are still committed to finding new producers, both big and small, and winemakers and innovators who believe as we do.  French wines are a tremendous source of value, quality, taste and are rightfully differentiated in the wine world as standard bearers.  In 2008 Exclusive offered its global Fine and Rare stock to the world under the moniker WineConsigners.com.  In 2014, Hannah Tehrani took over the sales and marketing of this affiliate which sells online.

To this day Exclusive Imports strives to elevate the French category for all its retail clients and offers personal service and support to help you and your customers understand and enjoy the wines we import for you.  With an extensive portfolio, contacts, and decades of experience, let us help you seize the many opportunities available and bring the wines of France, Port and iconic global rarities alive for your stores and your customers.
